The challenge for Na/GloPoWriMo Day 14 amounts to writing a poem based on the dream meanings of some or all of certain words chosen by the person who run this thing.  The words we are to select from are:

Teacup

Hammer

Seagull

Ballet slipper

Shark

Wobbly table

Dentist

Rowboat

After joking about seagulls flying into rowboats wearing ballet slippers and engaged in hammer dentistry with cooperative sharks holding still on wobbly tables… I thought there must be at some attempt to be made for this challenge…

Sipping tea from a dirty cup
The seagulls scream "Order up!!"
It's a warning to discern and save
Else these sharks will bring the grave

The dark and dangerous waters we row
Slipping on the precarious ballet slippers
We dance by the dangers and reasons we know
Hammering in the new, guided by the Big Dipper

We come together seated at our wobbly table
Like dentists seeking to redeem and heal
We do just as we are best able
To renew and live our new sort of tale
