Annihilation of Meaning

Woman seeks to question meaning itself
As something organic and from a shelf
An encroachment consuming some entirely
And leaving others grieving, angry and lonely

The fixity of womanhood has its own complexity
But, beyond this lies questions of humanity
Female disobedience becomes lethal botany
As the tale of original sin speaks to her curiously

The tree of knowledge sets the stage of evil on Earth
Even as Hecate's witching herbs protect the family hearth
Since time immemorial woman's knowledge has threatened disorder
And to the insecure, this disrupts patriarchy's contrived border
