Do you remember that day out at San Pedro
That stretch of beach where we use to go
Sometimes, I think of it, no foolin’
How you and I would go out tide poolin’
We watched the cormorants surfing their waves
Looked at old boats that found watery graves
Laughed as you were sure you’d saved a sea hare
Only to learn later we had found it just where
It belonged… and so once upon, … so did we
That day we spent out and down beside the sea
I still laugh at the memory of me taking photos
So engrossed that I didn’t notice the ebb and flows
With a splash of the incoming wave, I nearly lost
All the photos and the camera while ocean grinned as it tossed…
