A Short Conversation With God

House of Prayer - A Community of Believers

A Short Conversation With God
by Michael Romani

Some might see this as prayer
And I suppose maybe that's fair
But, I hear this as conversation
On this journey toward destination

Though too given to procrastination
Still this life has brought such fascination
Victory spread on an eagle's wings
I hear as the angels praise and sing

Living life filtered in our perceptions
Striving toward truth in our disposition
Seeking that which makes life easy
Perhaps to given to that which pleases me

Sin drives the stubborn patterns of our minds
Strongholds of negativity left behind
We must fight these thoughts to obey
And work constantly to follow Christ's ways

As unchangeable as we are in our preference
We must equally give others their deference
I know that we are all living under your name
Lord I get sometimes my standards can be lame

Here in our family we have a mixed a melting pot
All of it blended with everything that we've got
All of us fashioned for our purposes in your kingdom
Like six strings of grace waiting for your strum
