Every Word
by Michael Romani
Every word is a work of art
Every verse imprinted on my heart
In the 46th Psalm, there is spoken
Where William Shakespeare is broken
In an English sense of translation
We find this artistic literation
Words that are and aren't there
Words that inspire hope from fear
Words that we need to hear
A message from God made clear
Words that govern our nation
Woven into our fabric of translation
The last enemy to be destroyed
Will be death through words employed
The wrong way signs that we ignore
Would mean a lot more if we'd implore
As to the full measure of our accountability
Bending knee before God in our responsibility
Adoring the children who do surround
Teaching lessons in what abounds
Words we need and find we cherish
Are found in the good book that will not perish
Always struggling to find truth
Walking steadfast from our youth
We find in life it's about forgiveness
If ever we are to finish our business
God finds messengers in the least
Turning them away from the Beast
Words used in powerful transformation
Are the source of changing destinations
Words that have immeasurable power
Are the words of truth illuminating the hour
Changing words that allow us to heal
Are the words that bring us to confess and kneel
