Earthly Gnome

A poem for the element of Earth:

The Haze - Gnome Man's Land

Earthly Gnome
by Michael Romani

Grimble Gromble
Plays as the piper
At the gates of dawn
Watching his fallacies crumble
Hiding within the cypre
Feeling as faithful as a swan

As discarded images
They inhabit the earth
These troubled lovers of gold
Playing at late night scrimmages
Filled with laughter and mirth
Both wisdom and foolishness unfold

There's no place like home
Not for the earthly gnome
Who gardens at night
Before morning's first light
In red caps digging for treasure
They sing and dance for pleasure
