In the world of language and things said, context is everything. Isolated bits are more often confusing than factual.
Maddening Ambiguity by Michael Romani It doesn't take a lot of ingenuity To see that language has a lot of ambiguity Misinterpretation hides in humble prepositions That teach us much about our dispositions To listen less with intent to understand Than to take plain meaning as sleight of hand Teased apart nuances can be confusing Leading to arguments with both sides losing It isn't the case of adamantly refusing Sometimes it's not even of our own choosing There in all of these clusters of embedding Is the amusement beginning at our wrong-heading Context it seems is the key to resolution With all sides offering their contribution It's harder still in teaching computers My bet is that things will get ruder Until we can teach AI in terms of context Because English is just that complex (c) June 30, 2018 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
