Once In A Life

The luck of the draw I suppose? …..

Once In A Life
by Michael Romani

Here on the banks of once upon
I gazed on you and you were gone
My lifesong

Savage rumors shared together
Truest meaning; worse or better
For lifelong

I know it would have been so sweet
If we could have only been complete
Thrown lifeline

Somehow it wasn't meant to be
Despite the crushing memory
Love's lifetime

Waxed figures we anticipate
Given up so soon, yet so late
Seemed lifelike

Like all illusions was our love
Despite how we cried to above
Lifesaving
