There’s a lot of truth that we learned in the fairytales and other children’s stories of our yester-years isn’t there? When we read these classics again, there is still a lot to learn from them.
Remembrance of Books Past by Michael Romani The pastel spines of the childhood shelf Contain the words that became myself Books and words that my mother first read Remain those formative in my head The morals and values of my life The quietude of moments between strife And when I revisit them in re-discovery I find my lifetime basking in their memory And now, I pass these on to my children To treasure and blend into forming them As stepping stones to who they'll be Finding their own paths of self discovery Between reading again and this continuity I find we are blessed by this opportunity To share across our generations These words we have and hold with much veneration (c) August 7, 2018 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
