Out under the summer’s beating sun
There are moments of such brilliant fun
But none so fun as watching tourists on parade
As they pantomime their crazed charade
Leaving their footprint traces in the sand
While watching lovers hand in hand
Building castles just to watch them wash away
Only the naïve hope that they might stay
I little boy glimpses his first sand dollar
Letting out a hoop and an excited holler
All these memories fade back into the bay
Though dreamed on like only just yesterday
As quick as the sun sets on this beautiful day
Life too is a splendid moment that fades away
