Short Poetry Workshop – Crystalline – Crystalline Hope (Small Town Life)

Indiana is filled with small towns and with these people of the earth who remind us of what it means to be neighbors and community.

Crystalline Hope (Small Town Life)
by Michael Romani

Down the way on a country highway
A town called Hope has its own byway

Silos and barns hidden in tasseled corn
Weathered signs tell of children born

Playing on streets filled with small town air
Red rust brick buildings spread everywhere

Carousel music swells into the town square
As honest folks gather with little care

The messy life of a nurturing community
Finds its way in pursuit of God and family
