1 Peter 4:1-2

At the Foot of the Cross

All who desire  and strive to live 
A Godly life will face persecution
It's in this life that all will give
The Bible speaks this with elocution

Throwing hands out to break the fall
Suffering chisels us into what we recall
Formed and shaped into the blessed few
We seek out to what is right and true

Times of trouble connect to who we are
Do we fall into temptation's star
Or do we count our blessings in our loss
And find ourselves at the foot of the cross

Walking wounded we fight our fight
Armed with the two edged sword of light
Worked on unto the core of who we are
Chipped away as we follow our North Star
