For some crimes there is never enough justice. That Eichmann attempted to make the case that simply following orders somehow exonerated his deeds has always struck me as horrific.
Eichmann's Finale by Michael Romani Shattered echoes fill the mind As reminders of times behind A man's hatred does not disarm The subtleties of his off putting charm His evil is disguised in its banality While each death bears its commonality It seems a denial of our social sanity As the butcher's knife cuts strings with humanity A countless list of all the lost Each such priceless and beyond cost Justice offered in restitution Often falls just short of retribution Payback offers closure but also further trauma For persons so injured that they lose themselves in karma Wrapped up in the truth of identity Is that necessity of truth's core simplicity (c) September 2, 2018 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
