Lasting Changes by Michael Romani Lasting change can be elusive Burdens are felt so intrusive It seems that in our gut We get stuck in a rut It's a fatalistic mentality That feeds our mortality We need to hang on in belief And we'll find our relief Sometimes we have no choice To keep within our servant's voice So we then need to fake it Until back on our feet, we make it Morning by morning, we see The faithfulness of His mercy Pressing on as best we can Despite the unworthiness of being man Life offers its hard resistance To be faced in our persistence Pressing on in our every day Moving forward in every way Not giving up is often the key To becoming our best we In so doing, we find victory Already won for you and me Step by step as long as forward Is what it takes to move toward The righteous goals we keep Paying the price however steep Pick yourself up and stand tall Dusting off without recall Of anything but the goal This is the path to our best souls Without intentional sanctimony Life is its own living testimony We push on as we drive on Never allowing faith to be gone Putting away the ole song and dance Taking responsibility for our chance Put forth the effort that is needed Doing all things through Christ heeded (c) September 9, 2018 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
