Warning Signs Unheeded

In my desire to live a Godly life
I have opened myself up to strife
From those who would prosecute
And  slander me to my ill repute

Paul gave us all the warning signs
That we all will suffer as we refine
Defined by those who seek darkness
Subjected to unholy harshness

Touched by harm along our journey's way
We find ourselves in troubled days
Struggling just to make it through
We continue to suffer as we will and do

All these things that might discourage
We must turn and face with true courage
This is the lot and way we have chose
May our hearts be firm and never close

Let the evidence support our conviction
Despite the derision of expectation
Standing strong against dark society
Let the greatness of God give us fealty
