God Is After You

I seek in repentance to make my turn
To live a better life as I have learned
Desired by the blessings from above
Surrendering to the ways of blessed love

God is after me and He's after you
To His glory in the everything you do
Discouragement does not really matter
For the chains that bind us will shatter

At the Word of God once truly heard
Said straight up with nothing inferred
If we be the sheep ready to always follow
We may stumble but we'll always grow

Still following as we try and again we try
Drawing nearer to the Lord in our reply
Never yielding to anything but God's fruit
While we give our all as we pay tribute

To the Holy God who is hot on our heels
As we falter on and over life's trails
Goodness and mercy lead us in our ways
In every second of every minute of our days

It matters not how we measure victory
God's promises still hold for you and me
It's never too late despite passing years
Nor does it matter the frustrating tears

Each of us holds a set of the kingdom's keys
Gifted in spite of how clouded in mysteries
The only denial that's hard set is our own
The Lord embraces us never letting us alone

God is persistent in chasing us whatever it takes
Correcting us in lessons felt like heartbreaks
Giving us truth in place of the lies that deceive
These are the blessings if we'll only receive
