Life at the margins…
At The Margins by Michael Romani Fear and death tremble at the margins And here I am always shopping for bargains In the end will I have wished I'd done more To bring more love and a lot less war? In the end, we all know the score Having been given subtle hints living poor Desperately seeking for words needing spoken And maybe a little hope in this world soul broken I wrote four or five songs today Some bits of wisdom tripped along the way Strummed the strings looking for a melody But, all I really found was me Remembering younger days with stars in my eyes These somehow slipped across that storied bridge of sighs Yesterday it seemed you were my dream of tomorrow Today, I am just trying to get past the sorrow Looking at our old photos brings warmth inside Like the remnants of the sun that's already dead That day is over with your shouted goodbyes I know this best through the tears in my eyes (c) November 30, 2018 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
