Played Like The Boss
by Michael Romani

He made it all up
But still he's The Boss
We took it on the chin
But never at a loss

The applause rang out
But he wanted more
Then to ease our doubt
At the motorcycle's roar

Here we are at home at last
Looking forward from a jaded past
Everything told was a made up story
To give the common man a slice of glory

The revolution was televised
Long before society realized
Rock-n-roll had come to stay
As a hip shaking explosion of the everyday

Changing the world in an instant
Where only change would remain the constant
A crashing chord called us all to action
As a million guitars rang out in satisfaction

From this sprang a young boy's dreams
Of writing great songs across his six strings
And from these songs both dark and light
A little truth reached out under the stage lights
