Based in part on… life…. and Psalm 34:18:
Just A Little Broken by Michael Romani Down at the church, I heard it spoken That all of us are just a little broken You know, I couldn't deny it I wouldn't even begin to try it There in the contractions of our humanity Lies the base and decrepit symptoms of vanity At times it makes me filled with doubt Wondering how it is and what it's all about In this world we have so much in disrepair In degrees of separation we sit in despair Throwing our hands up; we don't want to hear it Probably cause we are to scared to fear it Down at the church, I heard words spoken That all of us children are just a little broken You know, I can't so I won't deny it I'm always looking for truth; so, I wouldn't try it Too many hearts lost as they get neglected Damaged goods tossed aside, these are rejected Too many relationships set to full meltdown As society around continues to falter and breakdown The world is full of those suffering broken heart Too scared, on red alert, to even really start The Lord saves the multitude of the crushed spirit At least those among who can still hear it Down at the church, the pastor has spoken Reaching out to all who are just a little broken You know, there is no sense, I don't deny it We have hold on to hope though we're scared to try it David's heart was contrite with a wish to be pure His breaking point prayer was the desire for a cure Like so many with stubborn pride endangered by self will The habits of sin provide the path of seeming thrill But these ways of destruction leave us in self despise Wanton in our lusts we see the world with darkened eyes All of this the result of choosing to pursue our sin In the self-denial of the need to be born once again Down at the church, I heard it spoken That all of us are more than just a little broken Try as I like my seeing eyes won't deny it In a sold out world, there's no one left to buy it (c) January 6, 2019 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
