Time Awaits A Hero

Long before the dawn of written history
Mankind has sought to build community
Combined with free will, it's not easy to do this
It often takes more than an angel's kiss

It is rare to hear God's word spoken
But to live best, His words must be unbroken
In this need, we seek heroes for meaning
To reveal God's intentions for us human beings

A hero walks this path and surely we will follow
Not hearing God directly but standing in shadow
It's enough to hear this in deep reflection
And through this, feel our very connection

Searching and waiting with hungry anticipation
We pray that our leaders bring us to this destination
Patiently waiting for our hoped for arrival
And all the rest is too often just our survival
