Continuing the tale in poetic form and based on the Book of Judges:
Samson by Michael Romani V Too often living by pleasure and whim Seeing only what is in front of him Yet, still the living God is within There as it is and as it shall begin In secret council, the Philistines raise Doubts on gods beyond symbols for false praise Gods are only a means of control And the king is his god that he extols True belief is a spark to be extinguished The kingdom belongs to the king distinguished The king is his own god sitting in his throne This is the truth by which he'll be known The foolish king teaches this to his son full grown As the way to rule his kingdom as he is duly shown Gods simply steal away as silent as a midnight thief And the prince takes great pleasure in this disbelief (c) January 16, 2019 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
