Na/GloPoWriMo Day 17 and the challenge is to write a poem from an unusual perspective. What if a drop of water thought it was the ocean itself?…
I Am the Ocean by Michael Romani I am the ocean I am the ocean I am the ocean The drop of saline water said Unable to get it out of his head I am and because I am I am all His significance of place He did not even slightly recall But his pride he would gladly embrace I am the ocean I am the ocean I am the ocean I am the first and the last I the future and the I am the past The shape of every buoyant wave The saline of every watery grave I am all seeing and all knowing I am all of this and ever flowing I am the ocean I am the ocean I am the ocean I am the alpha and omega of devotion Every thought, feeling and emotion And in being the all I am divinity It's present in ever single trace of me Before me all obstacles wash away Warmly sung on every summer's day I am the ocean I am the ocean I am the ocean The ocean looks upon the tiny water drop Smiling and respectfully asks him to stop Are you all or just another bit of me Open your eyes, it's very clear to see You are not any wholeness of divinity But just another drop in the cosmic sea You are not the ocean Just because you are wet Your pride feels this devotion But please never forget You are no more the ocean in all of its might Than I am the God of truth and light (c) April 17, 2019 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
