The ABCDerian of Modern Life

Na/GloPoWriMo Day 19’s challenge is to write a ABCDerian.  Here’s my attempt:

Provincial Life - Family Matters

The ABCDerian of Modern Life
by Michael Romani

Alphabet soup served as
Breakfast that day
Cereal having been ate
Deliciously the other day
Edible as these are
Few can exist on this alone
Gone are the when nutrition
Hardly mattered as it does now
I don't want to seem preachy
Just have this something to say
Kids don't grow on words alone
Limited by the choices adults make
Maybe there's a better way to put this
No matter, we will find a way
Only to find someone found another
Perfectly pleasing if we surrender the moment
Quorum no longer really matters
Random members of the family
Show up any more with meals no longer together
This is just a symptom of modern times
Understandably so or so they tell me
Verily, I surrender without a fight
You understand how that goes
Zygotes have become babies who seemingly grow up overnight
