This 27th day of Na/GloPoWriMo raises the bar to writing a sonnet. They, whoever they is, say that sonnets are usually about romantic interests, dark ladies or distant men. Okay! I think I go this one. But, I’m going to try to turn these 14 lines into a little something about all three into one. I have always loved a good challenge even if I seem to endlessly chase circles….
Sonnet For A Modern Love by Michael Romani You came to me as a surprise my love A sort of gift that came from the above I had thought I had given up on love But just as quick I knew I'm certain of The us that will survive this far distance Our passion will exceed all resistance Your heritage is of the Black Irish Your happiness is my biggest true wish I am your man and as such your monkey As you jest and yet you possess the key Daily we speak through our modern means Sharing our thoughts, hopes and our sweetest dreams The day will come when get to hold you tight And when that day comes, our world will be right (c) April 27, 2019 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
