Falling Up

They say that opposites, often attract.  Maybe that’s so?

Falling Up
by Michael Romani

Two souls separated at birth
Filled with hope well worth
Falling up to rise down
Love leaves both feet on the ground

Secrets passed down in family
Are the sages tale of tall homilies
Climbing above the cloud line and higher
And there you find your true desire

Two worlds managing to somehow collide
Finding their way beyond pride
Two hearts coming together
In the forever way of worse or better

To go anywhere and nowhere would do
Laughter keeps the gravity in view
Even where those who hate the different
Hold out fear as something reverent

Momentary images keep dreams alive
Even when reality says these should not survive
It is these things we still hold onto
Like the world of me finding my way to you
