As mankind took one step forward into space, God was remembered…

Lunar Communion

As soon as landing
Quietly yet planned
Communion was had
To make the Lord glad
There on the moon

One small step taken
Lord’s prayer unshaken
As we entered space
There at our embrace
A universe shared

Blood of Christ in cup
Where the down is up
Unleavened we break
Lord’s supper to take
Moon’s first communion

Thanks to Buzz Aldrin
We broke bread again
Commemoration
A declaration
Given so humble
