The Sun.. at first thought is the giver of the warmth of our lives.  On further reflection, it’s also a thing of cosmic rays, heat that can kill, solar flares.

Bringer of Life and Death

The sun
Full of warmth and light
Delivers us from night
Bringing life for everyone

We thrive and live
By all that it gives
But this smiling ball of nice -
Please heed this advice

Though on it we must depend
The sun is not our friend
This may seem somewhat a chiller
But, the sun's bright fury is a killer

So it is as we've been told
That much like the gods of old
The sun can give life or destroy
Giving death or something we can enjoy

Explosions of its cosmic radiation
Should have depleted any imitation
Of life as we on Earth know
As we watch reverently this solar show
