Life leaves us all, eventually… or, do we really transform into something else? Time will tell.
Fades Away by Michael Romani Being somewhat civilized I kept my discontents to myself More probably cause I realized I'd find my better answers from a shelf Looking into the annals of human wisdom Paying penitence forward for the kingdom There are some things we don't forget Like a friend's last breath and the regret Deeply pitching to lasting exasperation Held onto with our best of intentions Least that friend's passing no longer matter Though at that moment we thought we'd shatter The chattering classes have it all wrong They'd be surprised at just how strong The weak can be in their last moments And how the strong some times give into torments Instead of wise words, it's too often just a gasp Struggling to hold on with one final grasp And that's how it was that dark, cruel day When I watched you silently fade away...
