Death Under the Moon

Halloween Poem #16:

The Promise - Moon Shine Crescent

Death Under the Moon
by Michael Romani

With our demons friended
All light has ended
We walk in the darkness
Keenly aware of our harshness

Such is the power and insistence
That good gives way without resistance
Like creatures of the night we feed
Our true selves finally known, we are freed

The fog fill London night
Is our realm of sheer fright
Such is our kingdom's glory
This then is pestilence's story

Delivered with a kiss
Daylight is no longer missed
Secrets of nerves gone steeled
Our conceits no longer hidden but revealed

By the darkened ravaged bits of truth
We are delivered to our eternal youth
We shine like death under the full moon
Satisfied that weak mortals will know our wrath soon
