Always Thankful
by Michael Romani

You pour another drink
Taking time to think
Seems we all pay our dues
Too often singing the blues

Dark side, downside
Talking about wounded pride
Staring at the shadow plays
Sometimes lost in a haze

But, I'm always thankful
For how you're so graceful
With how you make me feel
And blessed to know it's real

It's the depth of your deepness
Dressed up in your more than sweetness
Arrived at your invitation
The key to my heart's appreciation

There are so many colors in your soul
With each layer that I come to know
You're a beautiful dream I've waited to dream
I'd conquer you a kingdom if you'd be my queen

Yes, I'm always thankful
For how you're so graceful
With you make me feel
And blessed to know that it's real

So many years, scared of love
Moving around from push to shove
Scared that maybe somebody might love me
For who I am and that real love might save me

And now I am coming to realize and find
That those years were spent running blind
And now I have come to realize and find
That you're the one that I've always wanted to find
