Motives Met
by Michael Romani

Things of darkness brought to light
Keeping praise to make this right
We are stewards entrusted  to care
Keeping our charges from Satan's snare

When we stand before our Lord's throne
We will be judged for the actions we own
All we care for will be the things we measure
And all that we have kept as precious treasure

It sometimes amounts to the things we sacrifice
In our esteem for others in all that will suffice
It's not so much about the well -being of just we
Few but to  build on the blessings for all humanity

Thankful for our passing through this world's fire
Depending on where we have set our heart's desire
If by grace we  have lived to giving the world much good
Then we will be able to say we did what we should

In the end we will at last meet the motives of our heart
Knowing with finality if they have been pure from the start
Has it been only our own belief in the cleanliness of intention
Or have we lived with the love of God to bring all connection

Finding that our is a God of giving and of all abundance
Brilliantly received with grace and in all true resplendence
So long as the life we live and have loved is for God's glory
This then is the truth of the fulfillment of our story
