Passport To Heaven

Based on a dockside sermon:

God's House of Prayer Church - Sermon On the Pier

Passport To Heaven
by Michael Romani

The work of the spirit is to convict us of sin
That we might live triumphant yet again
This is the message that we must always live
And in the midst of wrong always forgive

This is how we one day we have our arrival
There at Heaven's gate beyond mere survival
There is only one passport that will ever do
It's the stamp of forgiveness for me and you

Only faith offers us the peace and justification
That will ever give us the path to our salvation
It's there in our creed given in open declaration
Giving us the only way we reach our destination

You can give up billions but it won't pay the price
You can say good things and that won't suffice
Eternal life is ours through Jesus and to be forgiven
This is the truth of we need to be truly living

No long fearing the judgment that will come
When we're before the holy throne of the kingdom
This is written that we might know beyond knowing
The blessed assurance that sets our spirits glowing

It this believing that we must lean on in trust
Realizing every other attempt comes to a bust
It's only through clinging to our precious belief
Does our hearts become stamped with relief
