Happiest of St Nicholas’ Days 2019!  This is the day that I will forever and a day celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season.  Though honestly, I believe the world would be all the better if we kept Christmas in our hearts every day of each year!

On This St Nicholas Day 2019

The shivering cover of the night
Begins to grow into day's first light
Fortune's favor would soon grant
A December's birth from fabled romance

Though the very wolf bays at the door
St Nicholas is there always to save the poor
Struggling against poverty's saddened pain
As the believers cling tight waiting for summer again

Filled with faith, there is no doubt at all
That something most beautiful will befall
For every child on this St. Nicholas Day
The sweet sounds of gladness will lead the way

The times that he lived seems now so faraway
But the truth remains of the legends they say
He traveled to Nicea to help seal the Creed
For this was his respect for all of his good deeds

From the toys and gifts left in their old shoes
His love shared well the gift of good news
Giving gifts was his custom, and so it remains the same
Deeds done for Jesus and yet credited to Santa's good name
