Happiest of National Lager Days 2019!*  That’s right, someone thought enough of lager to make December 10th, it’s special day!  So in keeping on keeping on….

Just A Bit of Near Christmas Cheer

It was getting to be that time of year
He  was out looking for some kinda Christmas cheer
He walked in wearing a smile and in full swagger
Ordering himself a Christmas lager

Humming to himself sitting tapping yet so quietly
He put a smile on his face for the sake of propriety
Thinking... come again, come again to Christmas cheer
Twelve ounce curls bore a smile from sipping his beer

It started with a smiled bit of holiday Christmas melody
Until note after note it became a crescendo of rhapsody
The bartender laughed and reminded him not to be so loud
That too much fun is the type of fun just not allowed

Tapping with the spoons, the crowd around began to dance
The guy dressed as Blitzen busted moves like a prance
Thinking... come again, come again to Christmas cheer
Twelve ounce curls bore a smile while sipping his beer

Yeah, he was sipping on a pale lager, light blonde pilsner
Getting kinda mellow and feeling smoothed over in flavor
All the spirits were getting bright as it closed to mid
A little more and his sobriety would be quite well hid

The barmaid came over and flirtatiously took his keys
But she did it with style and a smile sure to always please
As he was thinking.. come again, come again to Christmas cheer
Twelve ounce curls bore a smile while sipping his beer
