A new friend who helped me in getting my bearings in the new place I have in SL and encourages me to form a poetry group there is a mermaid. We were talking about the funny quips she has on her profile and somehow that evolved into me saying that I bet I could write a poem around these. … And umm so,.. I did.
Ode To A Mermaid Friend by Michael Romani The ocean holds its depths Deeper than she's wept Wrecked on a stormy rock In legends sailors talk A siren's call to destiny Heard as if in mystery As we drown our souls Losing our fading control Like a drowning man Who's done the best he can To find up from down And ends with the jester's crown Spied combing her long hair More dark than ever fair She dreams of the ocean With every drop of emotion That she spares us from In her watery kingdom Turning to mortal at night But mystical by first light Words fall becoming inspired By the fancy of dreams desired Fallen as Ode to A Mermaid Paid full like the gold of a dragon's fade Fading into the mist of magic Tales whispered are often tragic Music plays tempting mortal souls Tempted by dejavu out of control All of the lost become mer men Who have become their sin Answering her call of eternity Mahogany given fades into mystery The opinions of shrimp mean nothing Just rattled chains of that something That must naturally become food Depending on her celestial mood (c) January 11, 2020 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
