Despite all the controversies surrounding the band, probably my all time favorite musical group is Led Zeppelin. I was reminded of this only just yesterday.
Smiled On A Blue Note by Michael Romani Come to me so gently Floated on a melody Song filled with rhapsody Sings to me completely Quietly gliding down On a clown prince's crown Hints of the delta blues Played out, paid out in my dues Gardens filled to capacity Lines borrowed with audacity Until these became our own Came a voice heard on the phone Telling stories of my yesterday Riff by riff, I learned to play Dancing happily in the moonlight I prayed my way into its delight Searching for that blue note drama Repeating in sequences of karma That hide somewhere deep within the soul Until they take their sonic stroll Whatever lawyers might choose to say Everyone who knows and feels the play Knows that yer blues are not our own And that levees break on mossy stones Just as they do upon every blue note Where we gathered round to first learn by rote Until we knew the feel deeper than our souls This is an open secret to all who play rock-n-roll (c) January 17, 2020 Michael Romani All Rights Reserved
