Counting Blessings

As this new year has begun
My eyes focus clearly on the One
The One who is all knowing
And whose love is ever flowing

The ways of Heaven and God are higher
Then ours and He knows our every desire
The greatest blessings of all are already ours
Moved past the material things into the stars

It is from Heaven that spiritual blessings flow
God's purposes dispensed that we might know
All the conditions requisite of the Beatitudes
That bring us to purely our right attitudes

Before the foundation of the Earth was past
Our destination was already eternally cast
As an invitation given to us all in prayer
Kept in the promises of God wherever we fare

Our present blessings in our redemption
Are made known, forgiven in our contemplation
Though born into the debt and bondage of sin
God restores the riches of His grace again and again

Prophecy holds that future blessings will come
When Christ makes all things right for His Kingdom
We, as His Children, are predestined and kept
Secured in our salvation we've already met
