Finding Joy In the Tears by Michael Doyle In looking back on my many years I am finding joy in the tears There in the sweet music for my ears Is the finding of joy in the tears From the laughter to the mourning From darkness of night until morning A life is full of joy and sorrow A passing of yesterday into tomorrow With a flash of remembered smile It's all been worth the while For the comfort in all that we mourn Such is life from the moment born Here in these moments of contemplation Where I find your love and my redemption Are the best of things to think on Until that final moment when all is gone We hope; we pray; even as we grieve Knowing the meaning behind what we believe All was possible that we might conceive With only the devil of doubt to deceive Laughter can bring strength in our disbelief Quite often more it's instant stress relief But most of all it cures our times of grief And this too brings us back to belief All these moments we stop to question why Choking it down with laughter as we reply It's better to smile a laugh than to cry Maybe that is the secret to answering why In looking back on my many years I am finding joy in the tears There in the soft music for my ears Is the finding of joy in my tears (c) March 13, 2020 Michael Doyle All Rights Reserved
