First Principles: The Principle of Spending Money To Be Paid By Posterity, Under the Name of Funding, Is But Swindling Futurity On A Large Scale

“The principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.” – Thomas Jefferson (1816)

When we take money from others without good return, we are swindling them.  When we hold out things or ideas that cannot be done or given  and we are acting falsely in return for immediate gains that will not cause gain for those from whom we take, we are engaged in fraud.  So too then is socialism and all its false promises.   There has never been a socialist nation that has brought good to any nation.   History is replete in this being deeply evidenced.  We cannot and never will gain something from nothing.  There is always a price.
