To Find A Friend

The world is a sometimes scary place, particularly when it comes to the heart, isn’t it?

A Castle Supernatural

To Find A Friend
by Michael Doyle

To find a friend
In this friendless world
Toward this end
I lay fetal and curled

Is to find that one thing
Most precious of all
With more worth than gold can bring
When my back is against the wall

There is too much darkness
For one soul to survive
Alone in all of the harshness
Willing myself just to stay alive

Because to find a friend
In this friendless world
Is the truest of ends
And to let my fist go uncurled

There in that magic of trust
Where one heart finds another
They beat together as they must
Each depending on the other

Bathing in the purity of light
That we share as our home
Guiding each other through the night
In the dream of never again being alone
