Two of A Pair
by Michael Doyle
That life would change and I'd be blessed
Was something, I'd never have guessed
Until that day you looked my lonely way
Leaving me breathless and hoping to say
That there might come some magical day
When I knew that you were here to stay
Each time I get to hold you, I quietly pray
A prayer of gratitude; all that I dare say
The truth of your beautiful reasons
Gives me a love in all of the seasons
You are the song my heart sings
So caught up in the beauty your love brings
In the winter, you and me before the fire
In the spring, your joy fills me with desire
In the summer, I'm lost in your sweet kiss
In the fall, as the leaves fall, I cannot dismiss
The way you make me long for the next day
Thoughts of you make me wish I had words to say
Instead when we're apart, I quietly say this prayer
That God always keeps us two of a pair....
