Na/GloPoWriMo #5: Pennsylvania In Transformation
by Michael Doyle
Based on the prompt and
Pennsylvania – Poetry Daily (poems.com)
Other children, live freely and wild
As though energized to win the fight -
Standing as I stood.
Said in brave silence
With me, as though violence
said in shout. That would not let it go
I have long since stopped holding breath -
it's just something.
Feeling a bit too down-n-out,
The knowing of all learning
Off for it's moment, quiet uttering
Lacking game as it was
Life feels done much too short
And then before the other is due
A poem born of empty verse
