There much stronger in its place
Hidden behind such a pretty face
Is a heart that beats stronger yet
And a love that I will never forget

Though my heart is oft a deceiver
I am blessed that you are a believer
The cross you bear upon your chain
Is the one of truth and not in vain

I know this as much as I know myself
Clearer than all books on their shelf
That around your neck is your confession
To this I make my faithful concession

On bended knee, I give my heart to thee
For the truth of you goes beyond what I see
Hold me closer as the night closes in
And let my love for you be the worse of my sin

For you are truly the very best of me
If I am to speak this in all honesty
It is my prayer that at the end of my life
I will look into your eyes, my dear wife
