Na/GloPoWriMo #21: In Believing We Can
by Michael Doyle
In today, I see tomorrow
In today, perched as it is
In today, seated on the edge
In today, formed by yesterday
Answers needed to questions
Answers in need of themselves
Answers that go unanswered
Answers we still need to find
Are we smarter than yesterday?
Are we smarter if we stay the course?
Are we smarter if we ask deeper?
Are we smarter if we start in belief?
That with hard work, we become complete
That with hard work, we are replete
That with hard work, we find our journey
That with hard work, our journey will be done
Life will win when love is the answer
Life will win when we let go of hate
Life will win in accepting difference as more
Life will win when we allow entrance to the door
There into the ways of opportunity
There into the ways of dignity
There into the ways that offer best equity
There into the ways that extinguish the vanity
That believes that only we truly known
That believes society can truly grow
That believes that while the journey is long
That believes in the end we all truly belong
