Pick Up Stix

Lichtbringer - Picked Up Stix
Pick Up Stix
by Michael Doyle

You can pick up sticks
You can play a thousand licks
But you can't save a soul
Without saving your own

You can make up tricks
That mesmerize slickers and hicks
But when you walk the walk of Jesus
You're never alone

Said the rock star to the president
Who more than knew just what he meant
Lifting up all of God's family
From the straits of poverty to equality

Each of us, we play our part
When truth is spoken from the heart
Keeping brief this Irish homily
Love for one another restores the dignity
