Trusting God's Plan
by Michael Doyle
Living Life in my recovery
Each day becomes a new discovery
Privileged to take another breath
I choose life over living death
I've had my share of heartaches
More than enough of the heartbreaks
I've been let down by my mistakes
And now I'm ready to do what it takes
In cardboard by the old freeway
The pain written is put into play
All the things I should have done
And yet, my victory will be won
Forgiven and saved from Hell's fire
I will yet rise above my desire
Though it has chained me in my shadow
Until finding faith in God's rainbow
Grace can save us, one and all
If only the promises made, we recall
Running from the darkness into the light
Knowing that, at least this once, I'll get it right
