Michelle's Poem (A Poem for A Friend)
by Michael Doyle
She's not beyond magic
To believe otherwise
Would be something tragic
You can see it in her eyes
She's got a laugh
For every season
In her way of knowing
Beyond all reason
In that sunshine way
She holds the world at bay
A new dream for every day
At least that's what they say
She says hello, goodbye
As she looks you in the eye
While singing of the Hunter's Moon
She has seen recently or will soon
While I don't mean to sound forward
She has a smile to light up the psych ward
Whistling a tune telling of coming far
She plays out her melody like a rock star
There are so many things that might be said
Most of these will be kept inside my head
But she asked me to write a poem or song
And I hope I did some justice even if it's too long?
