Forgiveness is...
Giving up on the thought
Of some mythical better past
Forgiveness is...
Where reduction of negativity is sought
Becoming free from the pain that shouldn't last

Forgiveness is...
Giving up on all the rage
For a return to a more moral community
Forgiveness is...
The emotional turning of the page
And finding peace in the heart's capacity

The capacity to let go
Of all the wrongs done
To begin the needed healing
Moving past the injury to ego
As is better in the long run
And to rise above the soul's revealing

Forgiveness is...
              needed...
To live, to love, to find...
              And be the light
