Room Read

Holiday Isle Shops - Krampus Reads From the Book of Life
Room Read
by Michael Doyle

It's hard to make a room read
Especially when I'm the hero no one needs
But there's something to be said
For all the nonsense that we're fed

Nobody is that special anymore
I wonder if we ever were even before
No one needs the extraordinary ordinary
When we all wish for something legendary

Dreams of the future serve as reflection
Who knows what will bring connection
With all the heaviness of gravity
It's a moment like this that calls for levity

I'm rarely serious but I am now
In hoping that we all muddle through somehow
With the garbage in which we wade
We lay waste to the plans we've made

It's funny, the things bringing us together
All the differences that make us better
All checkpoints that can't be checked
Is it any wonder our universe isn't more wrecked?
