Cobblestoned Memories

It All Starts With a Smile
Cobblestoned Memories
by Michael Doyle

Cobbled together in our memories
Are the pictures of our communities
The pages drying out as histories
We will one day look on as our legacies

Talking in our circled tomorrows
Finding drops of happiness in our sorrow
Learning from each other to live again
Until looking in the mirror, we find a friend

Each new beginning wipes the slate
Starting afresh instead of accepting fate
This is how we find our way to our feet
Rising hard to victory instead of keeping our seat

It's about taking in all the sunrises
Without apologies for the surprises
That come along to make our days
Complete and fulfilling in a million ways

It's the things that make life right
That turns the darkness into light
There it is played across the splash screen
All the exploration behind all that we mean
